Dear Sparkling Circle of Friends, Happy Gratitude Month! Oh, yes, there is a cornucopia of blessings shared around the table this month in America, but it is also the birthday season, our high BEday season, or as our friend Rev. Michael Bernard used to say - the season of Happy B'Earth-day - because after a lovely trimester of strict mama bedrest for me, my youngest, Violet Grace, was also miraculously born not just eight days after her due date but squeaked in miraculous fashion to land right on my birthday, November 28, twelve hours (and 39 years) to the minute after I was born. Hard to top that surprise gift! In my house, birthdays have always been special. We craft homemade birthday banners, sometimes the birthday fairy leaves a note or a crystal under a pillow, there is always breakfast in bed with yummy, hot mocha, hikes, or horseback rides, swims in the ocean, or curling into mama earth’s lap for a picnic.
