Aloha Rising III, Hawai’i Island
How would you like to experience this gift of pure Source and the Pura Vida (pure Elemental life) with the most sacred connection of aloha?
October 24-30, 2022
I invite you to join us…
Aloha!
Hawai’i has called to me since I was a child.
Long past the time of naps, my grandmother would insist I rest in a tiny, dark room with shades drawn and the only light within was reflecting off two small prints of women dancing on the shores of Hawai’i who always calmed my homesickness. Little did I know my grandparents had lived there, but more, the first time I arrived in Hawai’i at thirteen receiving a gift trip to go there with my big sister, as I stepped off the airplane and felt the air on my skin I said, “I’m home.” From then on, moving to Hawai’i wasn’t an if, but a when, and I was blessed to live and love and completely be blown open in every way when I picked up my own little family to move there because I was finally, emphatically called “home.” And though I had to return to the continental US when my youngest daughter entered high school, I still love my Hawaiian ohana (family) and home of seven years before these hands opened to the gift of the dancing hands.
I tucked myself near the volcano right before the pandemic hit, right after Kilauea had not simply laid waste to some of my beloved spots, filling in the hotponds where I’d swim every Sunday after sacred ecstatic dance, but where Madam Pele had created one of the most spectacular stretches of baby earth in the form of a black sand beach so long I couldn’t walk the length in the time I had to visit.
How would you like to return with me to experience this gift of pure Source and the Pura Vida (pure Elemental life) with the most sacred connection of aloha? We know the world is still changing, still reinventing, but with a few more tools under our belts and a lot more humility, I’d love for you to join me in a reverential and gracious dance in some of the places that call me to work with the energies that brought me there in the first place.
More details about Aloha Rising Hawai’i Island:
While I primarily lived first in the north and on the other side of the island, it was on the side of the rising sun where I really danced with Spirit and learned from Pele, so for this journey, we are staying in a clearing of the rainforest on the East Side of the Big Island, not far from where my grandparents lived. And while I’ve read that most of the tourist attractions are on this side, our main outpost will be on our very own rainforest retreat away from the bustle of tourists. We could stay happily here the entire time as it is private and self-contained, but we wish to immerse you in the exquisite beauty to explore and show you many reasons why I was called to this island 14 years ago and why you may be called, too.
Retreat Itinerary
The itinerary is subject to change as weather and Source leads, but may include:
- Ceremony giving thanks to Pele at Kilauea, Hawai’i Island’s active volcano with Kahu Ka’imiloa and talk story with Kumu Pulamawai about living aloha
- Hikes into Kaumana Caves & Lava Tubes, sacred valleys like the Waipio or Pololū
- Visiting the Rainbow Falls, Akaka Falls, exploring the volcano, trails
- Drive to the Gold Coast (west side of the island) to swim at favorite white sand beaches – 69’s & Hapuna Beach
- Local music and ono grinds (local food) at one of Hawai’i’s outdoor hotspots for locals
- Dancing on brand new black sand beaches –from the eruption of Kilauea in 2018
- Enjoy outdoor lava tube heated tubs on our private retreat grounds under the stars
- Ecstatic dance with our Hawaiian ohana and Jane’s Dancing Hands Circles every day
- Closing Mahalo (thank you)

Logistics
We are currently working on many details…
Accommodations
This will be a glorious intimate group for ease of travel and the special nature of the work. We have lodging secured, but already, if we simply take those who said they can and will join us with the small details we shared, it appears nearly all rooms must already be shared to hold us all. So for those who are already on the waiting list, we’ll soon be checking in with you to see if this sits well with you. If we have overflow, as it appears we might, we’ll be looking at other options nearby, but I wish us to be close together as car rentals are expensive and I’d like to secure vans to take care of our groups to help us all to stay as close together on this adventure as possible. Intentionally, it’s already a fabulous group!
Transportation
Please understand…
Even when I left Hawai’i it was expensive and our family lived modestly, so we will endeavor to create options within our retreat to keep each participant within their own budgets by creating opportunities for meal plans that suit your budget and dietary preferences. We will be providing fixings for simple breakfasts at our main outpost, but as we move around the island, we’ll chose cafes or eateries where you can choose what is best for you. While we’d like to provide catered meals and we are looking into options for a few more dinners, this is the week that Hawai’i hosts the Slow Food Festival for the Farm to Fork chefs and the best meals and chefs may be busy giving their food away elsewhere. Stay tuned for more details on this. There are wonderful eateries in the town close to our lodging as well as a fantastic natural market well stocked with healthy options and fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and local meat.
Start:
October 24, 2022 – 12:00 PM
End:
October 30, 2022 – 1:00 PM
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are we only booking over seven days (two half-days and five full ones)?
Hawai’i can be pricey and this gives others the opportunity to add their own adventures to our sacred ones. While I will take where there is a little local shopping, we won’t be having a shopping day for you to get souvenirs. The best places for inexpensive, but nice Hawaiiana is Target and Costco in Kona – the other side of the island. If we add in a dolphin swim, we could swing backward for an hour or so, but there is a lot of island to cover. There will be wonderful local wares in the little town near our retreat and yes, I’ll carve that out, but this way, you may have more options.
What is the Cancellation Policy?
Your deposit of $2,000 is non-refundable (unless in the case of cancellation and we can fill your space – you will receive your deposit back minus $150 credit card fees and handling). There are no refunds for cancellations after May 31, 2022.
