We Do!

March 15, 2024

A few days ago, I returned from a long, happy road trip to celebrate the wedding of the daughter of one of my dearest old friends. All the way down and all the way back, it was as if the land was penning love letters to me, revealing all the ways I could adore it. The spring-green hills rolled out delicate carpets of wildflowers. Cumulous clouds kissed in the freshly washed blue skies, and soaring birds carried twigs of poetry and feathers to light and nest in my heart. California is mesmerizing when she’s shaking the winter rain from her locks.

When I arrived in Solvang, the old Danish village tucked in the verdant wine valley orchards, I was even more delighted to discover our shared room in the old clock tower was blissfully internet-challenged. Metaphor much, Jane? This was this timekeeper’s gift. Auntie Janie’s time-out for time-out-of-time enjoyment? Work would have to wait. Catching up with old friends couldn’t. There were some old friends and family of my chosen family there this weekend that I’d not seen since pre-pandemic days, so each hug was extra-long balm to my soul.

Prettified, we gathered shoulder to shoulder to witness and fortify love in joyous bloom just as the bounty of the coming spring met me every mile I sighed. The magic of celebrating the best and highest intentions for the bride and groom’s sweetest life spilled not just into the hundreds of dandelion wishers embroidered into Rosie’s long, white veil and train. As her veil lifted for true love’s kiss, every molecule of air catching and releasing the heartfelt vows compounded their woven blessings. “I do” and “I do, too” transformed into “We do!” and it echoed through all the attendants in the room and danced on every plane of reality. “We do” still reverberates in my heart as I write this to you. What “we do,” what we can do, manifest, or be when we come together for love is boundless. Marry that to your heart today, Friends. Be the witness to your dearest vows and attend to uplifting your community’s best vows of love, too.

So many seeds have been planted in your heart over the years, perhaps dancing here or off and away elsewhere. Still, the fruits often have their own time. I’d read about a type of bamboo today that must grow in the dark and underground for five years—watered and nourished all the while but for five years. When it finally pushes into the light, it grows 90’ high within the first 9 months! What a testament to patient, but steadfast nurturing, for it is indeed sometimes years before anything beyond the most natural network of roots and life force can be seen. As I’ve long said, sometimes the foundational work here with the Dancing Hands moves quickly, sometimes instantaneously, but sometimes, in some situations, the root structure is quite underground for a bit. But then, when it grows, hold onto your hat.

Similarly, I shared in the last newsletter that I’d continue the Marcie and Rose story, and we will, (see our latest Testimonial Time), but before I do, I’d love to thank you for opening your heart to the best life we can dance into being and for your meaningful love and support. This May, when we are traveling on our Magical Isles Retreat to Scotland, Ireland, and London, I will be celebrating my NINTH anniversary of the gift of the Dancing Hands. American Mother’s Day weekend, we will be celebrating in magical Irish terrain and ancient sacred ceremonies. And yes, you, too, still have time to join us and see what Source has planned for this mystical, marvelous tour. See and join us here. And before that, we have our Goddess Retreat in North Carolina at the gorgeous Woodside Manor. Yes, there is still space for those who’d like to stay at the local hotel or Airbnb’s just a 10-15 minute drive away, too. Shar has all sorts of loveliness planned. Blessings, Love, and Blue Skies,

Rain Shadows & Finding Pots of Gold

Beauty, None of the following was a dream. Sky and Ruby were still sleeping. My mama heart cooed with the early Mourning Doves. Pulling on my On tennies, I smiled, knowing there was a surprise outside, and there she was: A rainbow arching to greet me as soon I slipped...

The Gentle Path

The Gentle Path

Dear Friends, I couldn’t start fresh. The jumble jar of details was essential, it seems. If I can’t be clear about this time, and I can’t even find words to speak outside my family right now, let the context stand: when I again say life has been life-ing, it means in...
